RETF Co-Chairs, Stuart K. Robinson and Stephen DéCayette introduced students to the Talent Agency Business today at
the Roybal School of Film and Television in downtown Los Angeles.
The goal of the magnet program is to prepare students from underserved communities to take on the more plentiful and often lucrative union jobs as camera operators, makeup artists, set decorators and other below-the-line workers. Today through an ATA/CAA partnership, the students learned about the talent agency business by the extraordinary Stuart K. Robinson and Stephen DéCayette. Not only did Stuart and Stephen present an incredible journey through the fundamentals of the talent agency business, but they deftly equated the necessary business skills of being a talent agent to the study of Algebra through an amazing program created by Stuart.
Today’s curriculum was presented to two classes over a three hour period. This was the first of a two-part program that will include an agent panel discussion moderated by Stuart K. Robinson in early March.
