FAQ
- Does an address change require the talent agency to submit the 14 page “full” Self-Certification?
- No, so long as the address change is approved by DCWP, and therefore a new license is not required.
- Does a change in an officer (not an owner) require the talent agency to submit the 14 page “full” Self-Certification?
- No
- Does a change in an officer (not an owner) require fingerprints for the new officer?
- Yes
- Does it require fingerprints for previous officers that already submitted finger prints?
- If the license is still active, it doesn’t require fingerprints as long as the officers were listed on the application and fingerprinted for the active license in question.
- Are in-person drop off of documents permitted?
- Yes, with an appointment.
- Are in-person payments of license fees permitted?
- Yes, with an appointment.
- Regarding “placement employees” does this include all employees that act as talent agents? It could be anywhere from 1 to over one-hundred. Or is this question relating to the license fee where the agency just needs to state if more than 4 placement employees?
- Per the definition in GBL 171, placement employee includes all employees that act as talent agents. The license fee depends on the number of placement employees the agency has.
- Is there any reason the talent agency cannot renew online now before receiving a notice from the DCWP? Will the notice have pertinent information that is not on the website now?
- They can renew now and then later send us the affirmation form and additional requirements. They have 60 days from the day the renewal is filed to submit the additional documentation.
